Cluster-to-Cluster Conference and Matchmaking - Towards New Horizons

BSR Innovation Express - for clusters in the Baltic Sea Region

Innovation Express represents a common European approach for supporting the internationalisation of SMEs through cluster initiatives.

The funding instrument aims at facilitating internationalisation, smart specialisation, and cross-border learning and competence development by developing transnational linkages between SME networks, clusters and other specialised research and innovation nodes – for the benefit of their members.

BSR Innovation Express is a joint call for proposals developed within a task force of BSR Stars, which builds on the existing Innovation Express approach and experience with pilot calls held within the TACTICS/European Cluster Alliance initiative (led by Oseo, FR).

The call is funded by national/regional funding agencies to initiate, develop or enhance transnational cooperation activities – leveraging cluster organisations (or similar) to develop proposals for their SME members.

Applications will be evaluated based on their potential to create benefits for participating cluster initiatives and companies, along with criteria from regional/national funding organisations.

Financial support of cross-cluster co-operations by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) - for the German clusters

The declared aim of the program “go-cluster” is the support of cluster managements in the further development of their excellence so they can meet the requirements of the European cluster management excellence in the long term on a national as on an international level.

These co-operations can be both technology-oriented and not related to technology or go across sectors and can take place on a national, European or international level. With these projects the innovative skills of the “go-cluster” member companies, especially those of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), are supposed to be further strengthened. As such cross-cluster projects can by all means be linked to considerable economical risks for the cluster and its management, the BMWi grants financial support in the amount of 40,000 € per co-operational partner eligible for funding within a project. The first appointed date is August 15, 2014. The last possible date for submitting project applications is December 2, 2014. Further information is available in the funding announcement of the BMWi on June 30, 2014 and on the website of the program of “go-cluster” www.go-cluster.de

H2020 INNOSUP-1-2015: Cluster faciltated projects for new value chains

The challenge is to develop new cross-sectoral industrial value chains across the EU, by building upon the innovation potential of SMEs. The EU needs to support the development of emerging industries, which will provide the growth and employment of the future. The reindustrialisation of the EU's industrial base has to focus on the development of long-term internationally competitive goods and services that require combining different competences and innovative solutions. The development of new industrial value chains calls for the collaboration and integration of different innovation actors, including large enterprises and especially SMEs, across different sectors towards the implementation of a joint vision.
